The Avenida Carlos V in Carrizal, Ingenio, will host the 3rd Feria del Sol (Sun Fair).
Exhibition of clean energies applied in homes and companies, with an exhibition of products, services and children's entertainment. It is an opportunity to learn about the benefits offered by the sun, the wind and the islands' own resources.
The third edition of the Feria del Sol will be held on the Avenida Carlos V in Carrizal, Ingenio, on 14 and 15 June of 2014.
Organised by the Town Councils of Ingenio, Agüimes and Santa Lucía, and the Mancomunidad del Sureste, it offers an opportunity for companies, professionals and training centres in the Renewable Energy and Energy Saving and Efficiency sector to showcase and sell their products, services and solutions, while raising public awareness of the benefits of sustainable energy actions.
La Ferial del Sol is an exhibition of clean energies applied to homes and companies, a dynamic and enjoyable event with an exhibition of products, services and children's entertainment. An opportunity to learn about the benefits offered by the sun, the wind and the islands' own resources.
Those interested will be able to get advice from professionals in the field at various stands where they will be able to see in situ how solar thermal panels are capable of heating water in a home, a photovoltaic solar panel or a wind turbine can provide energy to a home or business, or the existence of devices that have a positive impact on the water and energy bills that citizens have to pay.
In previous editions, the Fair has been held in the Plaza de los Algodoneros, in Vecindario, and in the Avenida de la Playa de Arinaga. And this time it will be held in the Zona Verde Los Aromeros on Avenida Carlos V in Carrizal, on Saturday 14th June from 10:00 to 19:00 hours and on Sunday 15th June from 10:00 to 14:00 hours.
Juan José Gil, President of the Mancomunidad and Mayor of Ingenio, said that "the Comarca del Sureste has one of the areas with the greatest wind and solar potential in the Canary Islands. We have to take advantage of the endogenous resources that nature offers us free of charge. We invite you to join us at the Feria del Sol, where citizens will have the opportunity to learn about current energy saving and efficiency technologies".
Likewise, Antonio Morales, Mayor of Agüimes Town Council, commented that "we cannot lack energy to defend a different energy model, a fairer society and a habitable planet. We must bring about a change in the energy model based on efficiency, savings and democratised, distributed and local renewable energies with self-consumption and net balance".
Dunia González, Mayoress of Santa Lucía Town Council, stressed that "the three municipalities that make up the Comarca del Sureste are firmly committed to renewable energies and sustainable development. Thus, the Mancomunidad has a Strategic Plan for the Integral Sustainable Development of the Comarca del Sureste de Gran Canaria, whose main objective is to achieve a life of dignity and wellbeing for all its population, present and future".
